Terms of service
Last updated 30 October 2026
These are the terms that apply when Pagekraft builds a website for you and looks after it on a care plan. They are written to be read, not to catch anyone out. Your written confirmation sits alongside them and says what is specific to your job. If there is ever a conflict, your written confirmation wins.
1. Prices
Our prices are published on our website. You can choose a build and a care plan on our Get started page and book a free kick-off call; nothing is payable at that stage and you are not committed to anything. After the call we confirm in writing which build and which care plan you have chosen, the total price, and anything that is not included. We do not add VAT. If you ask for something outside what we agreed, we tell you the cost before doing it.
2. Paying for your build
A build is paid in two parts: a deposit, stated in your written confirmation, and the balance before the site goes live. We send a link to pay the deposit with your written confirmation, and we start work once it is paid. The deposit books your slot and covers the design work, so it is not refundable once that work has started. If you decide not to go ahead before design work begins, we refund it in full. Invoices are due within 7 days.
3. What we need from you
To build your site we need your photos, your business details, the words for each page and your answers to our questions, usually from your kick-off call. You send us a few lines on each service and we tidy them up and lay them out; if you would rather we wrote the words, our copywriting is an optional extra at the published price. You confirm that anything you give us (photos, logos, text, reviews) is yours to use. Most sites go live in about a week. That timeline starts when we have what we need; delays in getting it to us move the launch date by the same amount.
4. Design approval and changes
You see your homepage design before the rest of the site is built. Two rounds of changes are included before launch. Once you approve the design, the rest of the site is built to match. Further changes before launch, beyond fixing our mistakes, are charged at the rates we confirm in writing.
5. Launch and sign-off
Nothing goes live until you have seen the finished site and signed it off. After launch, we fix any genuine faults in our work free of charge for 30 days.
6. Care plans
Every website we build comes with a care plan for at least the first 12 months from launch. This covers hosting, security updates, backups, business email and the monthly allowance of changes for your chosen plan. Care plans are billed monthly in advance. Unused change time does not roll over, and larger pieces of work are quoted separately.
After the first 12 months your care plan continues month to month, and either of us can end it with 30 days’ notice by email. If you end it before the 12 months are up, the remaining monthly payments up to the end of that first year are still due.
7. You own everything
Once the build is paid for, the website, its content and your domain name belong to your business. If you leave, we give you a full copy of the site and transfer the domain to you or your new provider, free of charge, within 14 days of your request, once any amounts due under these terms have been paid. We may show the design in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.
8. Support and uptime
While you are on a care plan, if your site goes down we respond within four working hours (Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, excluding bank holidays), and weekly backups mean nothing is lost. Hosting is provided through a UK data centre we select. We aim for your site to be available at all times, but no host can guarantee it, and we are not liable for downtime caused by the hosting provider, the internet or events beyond our control.
9. Third-party services
Some things, such as your domain name, Google Business Profile and email, are provided by third parties under their own terms. We set them up and manage them for you, but we cannot control their prices or policies.
10. Limits on liability
We do our work carefully, but we cannot be responsible for lost business, lost profits or indirect losses arising from the website or its hosting. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. The small print
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. We may update them from time to time; the version on this page when you go ahead is the one that applies to your job. Questions go to enquiry@pagekraft.co.uk.
